Rare Turquoise

High quality or high grade Turquoise that is natural and free from any enhancements is Rare Turquoise! Turquoise was one of the first gemstones found by man over 7000 years ago, it was immediately coveted by royalty and spiritual leaders. The highest quality Turquoise has been rare and highly sought after for the duration of its history. Today, rare Turquoise such as AAA Gem Turquoise is nearly impossible to find and becoming very valuable.

Above is a Rare Turquoise specimen from the Bisbee Mine which is located in Bisbee, Arizona. High-grade Bisbee Turquoise believed to be some the finest Real Turquoise that has ever come out of the ground in North America. There was a short period of time between 1960 - 1976 when extraction of Turquoise from the Bisbee Mine was active, other then that very little Turquoise has come out of the mine. Bisbee Turquoise is highly sought after and for good reason, it is very Rare Turquoise! John and Dillon Hartman of Durango Silver Company, known Turquoise authorities and proprietors of one of the worlds largest Bisbee Turquoise collections, recognize the extreme rarity of high-grade Bisbee Turquoise.

Rare Turquoise from the Carico Lake Turquoise Mine

The above photo is examples of Rare Turquoise cabochons from the Carico Lake Turquoise Mine. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine produced a lot of Turquoise for the general Turquoise Jewelry business in the 1960's through the 1980's. Ernie Montoya, owner of Sunwest Silver, the Carico Lake Turquoise Mine and noted Turquoise Collector, recognized the rarity of this unusual Turquoise. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine produces beautiful blue Turquoise but is most known for its spectacular shades of lime green colored gemstones. The lime green color in Carico Lake Turquoise is caused by the trace amounts of Sulfer in the Turquoise, which make it a mineral called faustite, this creates this beautiful Rare Turquoise variation. Lime Green Turquoise is ultra rare. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine also produces rare psuedomorph clams that have been fossilized with Turquoise - this Turquoise is rare, scarce and highly valuable.
