Vintage Dan Simplicio Watch Band with natural Bisbee Turquoise
Here is an opportunity to own a piece of Zuni history. Seventy years ago it was still done the same way we do it today, the best stones were given to the best artists. You might not find a better artist than Dan Simplicio. This Zuni master reinvented the look of Zuni art. Even today when you see a piece of his work you are amazed. This Vintage Dan Simplicio Watch Band is no exception. This cuff style Sterling Silver watch bracelet is very masculine and would make a great collector’s piece of man’s piece of Native American Jewelry. Three hand cut natural Bisbee Turquoise cabochons adorn each side of the heavy weight Sterling Silver watch bracelet. The best thing about the stones is the old Zuni cut, thick pieces that shows peaks and valleys. Each of the natural American Turquoise gemstones in this Vintage Dan Simplicio Watch Band is set in a handmade scalloped bezel. The natural Arizona Turquoise cabochons are separated by a stamped rattle snake that wraps around them starting from the bottom of the bracelet with the head by the watch tabs. The head of each snake features two inlaid natural Sleeping Beauty Turquoise gemstones. One of the snakes is missing a stone. We have left it as is since the bracelet is vintage and 70 years old. We would be happy to replace the stone upon request. The watch tabs features hand stamped feathers that are a finger print of the famous Zuni Jewelry artisan. Dan handmade the feather stamp himself and is the only person to have owned it until it was passed on to his son. The cuff bracelet that is the basis of this Vintage Dan Simplicio Watch Band is heavy and was forged from an ingot and hand stamped. Here is an opportunity to own a piece of Zuni history.
