Gallegos Trade Token Earrings

This Pair of Sterling Silver Trading Post Earrings are a recast from John Hartmans Indian Trading Post token collection. The Anicito Gallegos Trading Co was an Indian Trading Company from the late 1800's until about 1950, they were a dry goods store that traded sheep and wool for food, clothing and etc. They were located about 50 miles south east of Durango, Colorado at Carracas, Colorado which is now a ghost town. In their time there was not much U.S. currency so they had their own trade tokens made, this would also keep the Indians coming back to trade at their Trading Company.
