Kingman Turquoise Shadowbox Squash Blossom Necklace – Box and Bow Design
This is a nice Navajo Turquoise Box and Bow Squash Blossom Necklace. The Kingman Turquoise Nugget stones are natural Turquoise and that is very rare these days. We got this in a bag from a Durango family, polished it and restrung it. It is very attractive on and we have made it a little shorter to fit a smaller lady.
Here is a fact for you - out of 180 American Turquoise mines in operation 1985 there is only one active (Kingman) and a hand full of others in Nevada (Royston, Pilot Mtn., Damele) that are mined once or twice a year. We have a terrible world shortage of Turquoise and natural Turquoise is virtually non-existent! To get natural/real Turquoise these days, you better know the dealer you are buying from – seriously. China is producing all kinds of fake Turquoise due to them closing down all of their Turquoise Mines with no indication of reopening.
So, if you want a good Squash Blossom Necklace with some age and a nice design – here is a good one for you!
