Petite Point Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Bolo
An old Navajo Turquoise Cluster Bola or Bolo Tie from the Fort Defiance Trading Post collection that we purchased in 1982. This is a nice example of an old Navajo Petite Point or Cluster bolo that was once the property of a Navajo man. This style of stone cutting and silver work is called “Petite Point”. It was made in the 1940’s -50’s and has “Robin’s Egg” blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Stones from Arizona. At that time these stones would have been sold as Pinto Valley or Castle Dome Turquoise. Each of the American Turquoise gemstones in this Navajo Petite Point Turquoise Bolo is set in a serrated bezel. Each stone is separated by a raindrop design. Each row of stones is separated by a rope or cable design. It is a big bold Navajo Turquoise Bola and these are getting hard to find!
