Huge Natural Persian Spiderweb Turquoise Cabochon
This is a exceptionally nice and rare Persian Turquoise Cabochon. It is a beautiful medium blue or darker "Robbins Egg" blue with awesome red spider-webbing. This is a Turquoise stone that you will never see for sale again. A one of a kind hand-cut Spiderweb Turquoise cabochon. 100% Natural, no dye, no wax, no stabilization and no backing!! This stone is considered to be TOP GEM GRADE or AAA Grade and is less than 5% of what comes out of any mine.
It weighs 64.5 carats and measures 31 mm (1.25 inches) x 25 mm (1 inch) and it is has a 11.45 mm high dome - really, this is a spectacular stone out of John Hartman's personal collection and you are gonna have to pay me well to get it! This stuff is just that rare. As you can tell from the pictures this is truly exceptional from any mine. This stone would be the highlight of many fine Turquoise collections.
Large Persian Spiderweb Turquoise Stone
Persian Turquoise comes from a number of mines in modern day Iran. The stones from all mines show a great color variation. Many mines were worked around Nishapur, 225 miles east of the southern end of the Caspian Sea, close to old caravan routes. Persian Turquoise has been highly coveted in the middle east for centuries. Firm evidence exists that Persian Turquoise these mines were heavily worked beginning in the 10th century, but there is also evidence that some of the mines near the surface may have been exploited as early as 2100 B.C.
