Lime Green Turquoise example from Nevada USA

Nevada Lime Green Turquoise

Orville Jack Lime Green Turquoise

Lime Green Turquoise is beautiful and in high demand, however, it is extremely rare and seldom found when mining Turquoise. Durango Silver Company has just produced a most interesting article that goes into depth on information on this phenomenom in evolution. You will find information and photos on rough, cut cabochons and Southwest Turquoise Jewelry made with Lime Green Turquoise when viewing this informational page.

Lime Green Turquoise  is primarily found in Nevada USA and from very few Turquoise Mines. The main known sources for this material were the Orville Jack Mine, Carico Lake Mine, Damale Mine, Tortoise Turquoise Mine, Tonopah Blue Gem Mine and small pockets from a few others.

Turquoise is a sedimentary gemstone which means minerals in the upper layers of the earth contain certain minerals and when water/rain flows through the earth the runoff funnels into voids below to deposit a conglomerate which ultimately creates Turquoise. Turquoise consists of copper, iron and alluminum sulfites and a lack of copper is the reason why Lime Green Turquose is created. A Turquoise deposit can be blue at its core location in the earth and the further you dig from the core the color of the gemstone may/can change colors due to smaller amounts of one or more minerals which were not present in the earth above at the time when the Turquoise was being formed millions of years ago.See photos and information on Lime Green Turquoise in our article located on our website.
